It's getting closer for IWC to make the trip to Sanctuary Point.

I'm thinking of coming up via Canberra, staying the night then heading to Sanctuary Point the next day.

Looking at Google Maps i can se it's dooable, but is it a hard drive?

Would it be better for us to go through Kangaroo Valley to Nowra?

The easiest and best way is via Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Tarago, Nerriga, Huskisson then Sanctuary Point.

There's about 1 kilometre of dirt between Tarago and Nerriga. Parts of this section of road are quite narrow, so please don't rush.

There's also a short cut to the Princes Highway about 30k after Nerriga, called the Turpentine Road. This involves about 9 kilometres of good dirt road, and is the way I go.

The trip can be comfortably done in about 2.5 hours. If the forecast is good, and personal lethargy doesn't intervene, I will come down.

Thanks for the tips.

Last year we towed our camper van through kangaroo gully to Nowra. That was a nightmare. We had to stop a couple times because I was loosing brakes!

This year we've rented a house in Huskison and the only thing on the car is boards on the roof and bicycles on the back.

I'll google map it and see what comes up.

BTW Keef, we've got a couple more speed sailors coming up to chase you around

The GPS will direct you via Braidwood which has 40km of dirt road,so when you are at Bungendore reset GPS directions to Tarago,at Tarago tell it to go to Nerriga (with 1km dirt)after that type in "Sanctuary point road" .It will take you via Terpentine road which is 6km of dirt. Keith and I will be waiting for you at the boat ramp at the end of Sanctuary point road

The trip from Canberra is 185km with one short steep climb(1km with awesome scenery) and a very short steepish descent(750m) so no problems with brakes overheating. This route is much easier on the car and takes half the time of going via Goulborne ,Kangaroo valley and Nowra.

Brian -really looking forward to sailing with you again.
Doug - didn't you bring a board with you?

...and so many of them.Out to sea you see one jumping every 30 seconds, there everywhere. I've been watching them from shore, not game to windsurf with them.
Did go to Jervis both days on the weekend to check out the formula guys but windsurfed at Santuary point.
