Hello all,

Kicking off the event on the 13th Nov up at Valentine, Lake Macquarie then 14th Nov at Kyeemah, Botany Bay. The second weekend will be the 4th and 5th December at Kyeemah, Botany Bay. Opening at 9am until 5pm.

Lessons will be starting at 10am/12.30pm/3pm for two hours. After some theory you will be on the water! Practicing your secure position, sailing position and tacking around. Our coaches will give you pointers to help you progress and have fun!

Please keep watching here for the latest updates or our WSS facebook event section. Pre-booking the lessons will help us organize them and you not to miss out! So just give us a call or post here with the Names / Phone number / Age of all your party members.

It will be a GREAT day on the water with a lunchtime social BBQ at 12pm so bring the family and your friends!

See you all there

HI,

Where abouts at Kyeemah will you be setting up the event.

If parking is difficult then the new car park just after the cooks river bridge is ideal and plenty of good grass area for rigging all the sails and boards for display. Was there last weekend and it was very comfortable and empty compared to the bestic street end.

Only a suggestion.
Thanks

kind regards
Walt.

The new carpark may be the go. Heaps more parking and more area to rig than Bestic St. The downers are no shade and the round about paths to the beach. One path has those annoying wooden slats all the way down to the beach.

Thank you Sam and the JP/NP team. I enjoyed trying the Super Light Wind board and the X-Cite Ride 122 along with the NP rig.

I tried the superlight but it was only blowing 5kts with the occasional puff to about 12kts.I got one puff but it was only 20' across..the thing took off but I stuffed it trying to get into the straps .The nose went up & it rounded up..Pity it felt amazing & floaty & light so it would have been good to be able to give it a decent test..Boy those straps are outboard though..It would take me a while to learn how to get into them! Very stable , comfortable platform & seemed to go upwind ok in subplaning conditions ..

I thought Id copy my earlier post across to here as more fitting..I took some pics of my friend out at Belmont..Ill post some if I get organised..
Heres my earlier post
Great day! I was sceptical especially the location with a NE forecast but it was fun..I got a friend who hadnt sailed since the 80's to come along & have a go & he was pleasantly suprised to find he picked it easily..he wanted more wind!
1st time in 20 years Ive been able to cruise along on a beginners board & talk to someone as I sailed.. very pleasant. Also good to practise gybes & my messy tacks..Took my own board out in the gusty 15kt NE after for a short sail..I still like my 'short board'! ( 125ltres)
Very well set up with heaps boards & rigs..I dont think the shorter boards got much of a workout due to the iffy wind in close.

Yeah I was told it would be there. The event was at the new carpark last time and it was a good venue.

THE EVENT HAS MOVED!
www.google.com.au:443/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=The+Grand+Parade,+Sydney+New+South+Wales&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=58.913293,114.169922&ie=UTF8&oi=georefine&cd=4&geocode=FSmk-f0dTmQCCQ&split=0&hq&hnear=The+Grand+Parade,+Sydney+New+South+Wales&ll=-33.979346,151.149591&spn=0.003421,0.009012&t=h&z=18&layer=t

After much deliberation... we have decided to move to RAMSGATE BEACH. Just a little bit south of Kyeemah. To join the Stormrider Racing and make a GREAT spectacle!

Heading south down Grand Parade, pass Hollywood Street on your right and we will be in the next large car park on your left. The trailer will be at the south end of the car park and lesson will be held just south of the groyne.

Come over and say Hi to Sam, Anne and Dan Berry at the trailer and see what new demo gear there is to try and join in the lesson!

See you all there.
