Any one gonna sail botany Se'er today and where ?

I just drove past on my way home from work and looks like its howling.
I stopped to look at the wind at kyeemah, Ramsgate and st george sailing club

Around the airport the wind was almost dead on shore so might be hard getting any good angles out of it.
Ramsgate is slightly better angle and more consistant looking wind but looked a bit choppy.
St gearge sailing club seemed a bit less wind and the winds not really southerly enuf to use the sand bar. altho the water did look a bit smoother.

Of the 3 im kinda leaning towards ramsgate cause the wind looked really nice there.

La paruse and kurnell are both gonna be a touch off shore so will have a bit of wind shadow getting out.

Any other sugestions?

Sailed bay surf in Port hacking at about 3pm today, best waves I've ever seen there, unfortunatley the wind was really light and super on shore. Still had some great waves just frustrating that it was so close to epic

Was there much wind anywhere else? It seemed windy but when I went by the bay and the beach it didnt look all that good?

Sailed Wanda from 5-6, same, super onshore but the managed 3-4 good runs. wind was up and down and swinging E to SE and back 6ft waves easy, also as the tide was comming in the shore break and currents were getting stronger and making life hard. Seagrass and seaweed was floating in the shore break but once past that got a few good runs and big jumps in. Not sure if i'd go again today if it was the same, needed about 5knts more and would have been great....

Was anywhere else any good?

Sailed both Tue and wed down at kyeemah , Both days were patchy with huge holes in the wind.
Tue had a 6.7 up and was running pretty good - occasionally over powered in gusts but was much better in the holes.
The guys on 5.4s were really struggling till the gusts hit.

Wed was worse than Tue with me using a 7.5 - had some really nice runs but there were huge holes where we just sat around and waited for the gusts to come thru again.

All in All the SSE wind was pretty poor. All i can say is when that kinda wind blows you better off rigging big and just hang on in the gusts :)

Be interesting to see if the southerly forcast for next Tue comes in - should be low tide around midday making the Sand bar off st georges sailing club a fun blast.

well said, it was crap other than the 2 * 7 -10 min wind bursts, seems that the more east it went the softer the wind was
