I saw 3 windsurfers out Bondi this afternoon, was just wondering where in the world do you park down there?

First time I have seen people sail out there, looked amazing in the southerly.

It gets good in a southerly but I'd be more worried about avoiding all the surfers & swimmers.

I think a few on the southside use Bondi since they have effectively been hassled away from
Maroubra by the Lifeguards.

@Wollemi thats exactly where I saw it from.

Fair point on the people in the water but as long as you are not right on the shore it would be OK I would think.

Haha, that s a great photo.
Owain, there are various possibilities:
- Park on the main parking by the beach. You may have to get a mortgage for this, unless you are a Waverley Resident (in which case you can get a yearly pass for 100dolls).
- Park on the street P2 (once the southerly kicks in, everybody goes home, so you should be able to find a spot fairly easily).
With regards to swimmers and surfers; we do sail only when the southerly is strong, so swimmers would disappear as it???s too cold. With regards to surfers, there are a few, but far less than on a normal day are waves are mushy.
If lifeguards are still working, they ll tell you to sail at the back as you could be a danger to surfers. If it???s after 6-7pm; then you can do what you want, but better be careful before jumping as surfers could be potentially anywhere (there are a lot of beginners in Bondi).
Come down next time!
Cheers

Nice one @frpialoux, thats pretty much what I expected.
I couldnt think of a worse place to park and rig than bondi but those handful of days a year when the conditions are right the everyday punters would disappear.

Anyway hope to get down next time.

Cheers,
Owain
