I was thinking of going away for Easter break to a location within a couple of hours from Sydney. Somewhere that will work in a few directions so there is the best chancer of scoring some wind (probably wishful thinking!)
Any suggestions?
If you're camping try Killealea Nat Park. You have the Farm/Mystics for surf/SUP and you're close to Windang, Lake Illawarra, Warilla, Port Kembla Gerroa and Shoalhaven Heads. Was there on the weekend and had a great sail at Shoalhaven. Covers all directions within a 30 minute drive.
shoal/nelson bay. all directions flatwater & waves. nice surf at one mile or Anna Bay within a short drive.
in a W you can cross to Jimmy's beach/Hawk's Nest, about 4km? (I think) or sail at Birubi which can be superb until the surf goes a bit wild.
Mate it's easter you're talking about. When your caravan isn't floating down river on a flash flood you'll probably be pelted by cane toads when it starts raining frogs. And that's between fighting off waves of zombies and umbrella corporation paramillitary goons of course.
