Managed 2 sails yesterday on drive home from QLD, NE was cranking on the mid north coast.
Coffs was 20 knots plus by lunchtime. Had a look at Park beach, decided to check Wenonah
which was windy but small surf.
Went out at Nambucca. Great spot but what an effort to get out.
Q. How to you launch easily from that place 
Drifted out through the river then came in at
the breakwall beach. Long walk back.
Sailed later at Laggers SWR. No-one out at that time. The gaol & carra park was packed, I don't
think too many were appreciating the 20 K NE though 
Tough drive back to Sydney at 7.45!
you're prob right. was happy with 'bucca, was just such an effort to get out to the wind.
after 6 days in QLD with no sailing I was pleased with 20 knots
6.30 pm at SWRs on the 22nd? By then I was stuffed and back home drinking the first bourbon. Been a few good n-easters here lately, but I'm really surprised at the lack of people who come here to sail. Everyone that gets that winning combo of low tide and a 15-20 knot n-easter raves about the place. Anyway, hope you had a good sail Tomp
thanks Phil, it was quite low tide, beautifully smooth on the inside and a good planing run for jumps.
I was getting a few odd looks rigging up that late. I reckon I could have sailed until maybe 8pm at
least but then didn't want to drive off the freeway otw home.
does a big south or ENE wrap in at all? under-rated spot anyway for sure.
Tomp, nice late run for you. It sounds like you had the fun conditions I try to tell people about. Add head high waves and it's mental. The bigger the waves, the smoother the run in and out. I'm all amped now!...lol
As for waves, basically any swell with east in it will get into Laggers Point. Cyclone swell (which I bravely had a shot at last March) gets in at the same size as the open beaches. You need a big southerly swell to wrap the 180 deg around the point. If it's 6 ft on the open beaches, it will be 2 ft at Laggers. 8-10 it will be 3 ft or so. South east swell and most will get in. Sadly we haven't had much swell here at all lately.
Here's a pic of SWR's in a fun 14-18 knots with chest high sets (nor-east swell). You've probably seen it, but it pretty well sums of summer sailing at Laggers Point. Should be like this tomorrow and Thursday I hope :)
