"NeilPryde RS One Race Day, Sydney Harbour"

1/ What: "NeilPryde One Design Race Day, Sydney Harbour windsurfing course racing for RS:X and RS:ONE".
Here's a link to see the board and rig.
http://racing.neilpryde.com/rs-one/overview.html

2/ When: Saturday, 8 October, registration opens at 10:00am to 11:30am, first race starts at 12:30pm

3/ Where: Woollahra Sailing Club, Vickery Avenue, Rose Bay

4/ Emphasis is on social and fun racing. The course will be simple to understand and not super long.

5/ RS:ONE and also include RS:X, racing on the same course, same races. This is the first organised RS:ONE race event in Australia and we are excited to have the opportunity for participants to try this new windsurfing one design class with all equipment provided (except harness and PFD) at a low cost.

6/ Entry fee is $35 for race management and BBQ. For RS:One this includes use of equipment. For RS:X sailors need to bring their own equipment .

7/ We will have minimum 10 charter RS:ONE packages. Since we hope for more than 10 registrations, if necessary we will split the fleet into Open and other divisions (Junior, Womens, Masters) and run the races seperately (Open RS:ONE and all RS:X at once, other RS:ONE divisions second). This will allow us to buddy up the sailors so that a sailor from Open is sharing equipment with a sailor from another division, and then rotate to run 3-5 races during the day.

8/ BBQ is included for competitors in the entry fee. The canteen/cafe will sell drinks, coffee, etc. during the day as well.

9/ Contact WSS on 99710999 or Sam Parker on 0407913394.

Should also add that you don't have to be a competitive racer to have a bash at this event. It's all about having a go as it should be a laugh.

Definitely open to wave guys looking to try a bit of racing. Maybe they could show some of the racer types how to gybe.

Also apologies for the late notice.

Sam.

Still a few places left if anyone is keen.

Keep in mind that the focus is fun and maybe to try something new.

Cheers,

Sam.

If I wasn't heading off to Sandy Point tomorrow I would be there in a flash. I cannot believe the lack of interest in this. It's a unique experience and something that I would have bet dozens of guys would have been keen on doing. Glad I'm not a gambler

A little but we have a couple of demos that'll be doing the rounds over Summer. If the winds not enough for short boarding we'll put a couple of buoys out for a bit of one design match racing.

Good day on the water by the way. 11 boards got out for 3 races until the wind faded totally. The event was won by young Ben Morrell from Illawarra.
