After waiting ,seemed like months for the right day ,i did relies maybe a good cam sail is my next purchase ..
a lady took a few shots of me ,and my sail sure was making some out of shape shapes .i did feel in control ,but felt i could of
gone faster ...this is a 6,5 cheetah and gusts of up to 25 knots,I shouldn't complain really as i did beat my PB,but the sea didn't really flatten out enough .
i ended up with 33.15 knots ..so I'm slowly getting up ...its always the conditions that hold me back ...hoping WA this January is going to pour it on ,anyway here's a few photos to look at for a laugh.I know I'll probably will never match the big guns ...but isn't it all about beating your own best speed ...i had a smile after looking at my watch ...loved it . the 115 patrick was skipping .i had to go in and put a smaller fin on to keep it down .

Sail shape doesn't look too bad.

The main advantage I find with Cam sails for speed sailing, is they allow you to go deeper. A no camed sail can turn off as sail pressure decreases, so it stalls earlier

I agree, the sail looks good. I think the difference with a more race orientated design would be that the head would be flatter and there would be less vertical movement of the draft and centre of effort, and that CofE would be lower. But that comes at the expense of needing to use a slightly larger sail for the same power.

And I completely agree. This sport is all about beating yourself and getting better.

i have noticed this with the no-cam ,but it sure does make it easy to use ...i guess it has its limits ..

i brought a 6,0 lion for my WA trip ,hope to improve my speed ,looking at a adjustable outhaul system for the downward runs .

thanks for the feed back sailquik, and decrepit...if i can hit a 35 in the next 4 months i will be happy ,and then the quest to beat that starts again its defiantly has made windsurfing a bit more fun and exciting ,and more on the edge.
