Hope someone has ideas, when to upgrade firmwware , to latest one from mount best site , all went through ok . Went to reset navi and it would not restart. Removed battery no diffrence. When you plug it in to pc you get the normal pc usb sound showing device has been plugged in . But no lights at all on navi

bc, can you put your issue in here as well

The manufacturer is monitoring issues to see if any pit falls. Feel free to contact Stacy direct with feed back.
And no, to date I dont have an answer for that problem from any of the end users at this stage

Take it back......who'd you buy it from?

Sorry no ideas for whats wrong (only a smartar5e response). Can you remove firmware through the PC Navi link and see whether screen works again?

Sounds like the firmware upgrade went wrong.
Did you have any other programs running at the time????

If windows skips a beat during the process I believe that can be the consequence.

bc,
I had exactly the same thing happen to me during an upgrade to firmware.
I contacted Locosys and they offerred to take a look at it.
I sent it off yesterday so I'll wait and see.
One thing they emphasised...(see their response below)

Because the unit wss used in windsurfing, could you please check if the unit had been immersed in the water?
GT-31/BGT-31 is a waterproofing device, but it is inappropriate used in too high speed watersports and put in the water for too long time.
There's the attention for GT-31/BGT-31:
GT-31/BGT-31 unit MUST be used in a waterproof housing or bag when used in watersports.
The device itself is waterproof but it will not withstand the use of in extreme sports.
IPX7 is tested in the still water for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter.

Now I have noticed a drop or two on the unit sometimes when I am getting it in or out or the Aquapac but I dont think its enough to do damage.

cheers,
mick
