That day actually was one of the warmer surfable days we've had this season. But still I guess this month is one of the coldest april's in years. Everybody is still using winter suits and boots. Some even use a cap and gloves. Temperatures should be around 12 to 15 degrees celcius by now but are stuck between 5 to 10 degrees.
The mudwalk this year isn't as bad as it looks. In previous years there was more mud near the dike. No that big a problem when starting the session but more so at the end. Picture a 3 hour speedsession in 6+ bft winds, then a 40 min walk back with a headwind! To find the last 200 m are in mud up to half way your knees.
But hey if you want high speeds you have to suffer a bit... shouldn't be as easy as those spots you Aussie guys have
