I know this topic has been brought up before, but im struggling to find a good program for osx. I hve a navi GT-11 it works well but iv never seemed to get the computer side of the bitch working well.
i also want to know if there is such a program which can use the gps data and show ur position on a map. Does this exist in the same program.
PS. Im also looking into joining gps challange thing. do i just send raw tracks to them or do i "cut out" the bit where i did my best speed?
GPSresults works pretty well with the GT-11. Info@gps-speed.com. At times it's a little reluctant to analyse nautical miles with a gybe but otherwise gets near enough to the same answers as realspeed. Does alpha racing and the processed tracks can easily be transferred to Google Earth.
The main problem is finding a pac that keeps the GT11 on your arm and dry. They're pretty tough mine's been drowned in salt water a few time but after losing and finding it for the third time, washed up on the beach yesterday, I'm on the lookout for a genuine waterproof case with a higher quality velcro.

I use a mac, you have a couple of options.
1) GPSResults (native OS X) www.gpsresults.com/
2) GPS Action Replay (java) gpsactionreplay.free.fr/
3) Use an emulator or virtual machine with windows, and run RealSpeed (http://www.intellimass.com/RealSpeed/Index.htm)
4) There is a new web-based calculator which is showing real promise, I don't fully recommend it yet but it looks like it could be a viable alternative very soon: www.ka72.com/
When you join the challenge by sending Hardie a fax, you will be able to log in. Once you're logged in you just type in the six numbers and a bit of a story about how your session went. It's up to you to make sure that your numbers are accurate.
Yep I use GPS Results which is good except as Nebbian said can be tetchy with tight gybes but hey, how often do we go for serious nautical mile runs with a gybe in it?
I use GPSarPro, in Linux, as Nebs says it runs in Java, so will run on any system as long as you have late version java.
Also you need the Pro version not the free version to work with the navi's .sbn files and to do alphas.
the gps results program is proving the best so far, iv just tried to export my file into google earth and the error message is.
"cannot open '/GPSResultsExport.kml'!"
does anyone know what im doing wrong. cheers
