Thanks mate, yep you're right, brown means... well... that's about the strength of it.

Had some issues with people having to hit refresh, but I think they're sorted now. The oldest the data should be is ten minutes old.

Since I put it in I'm starting to wonder why I moved over here...

But we've got a great forecast

Wednesday until midnight: SW winds 8/13 knots. Gusts to 45 knots

I can just picture Slowie sitting patiently waiting in ambush for a sneaky 45knot gust

Nice work Nebs.

More stuff to mess with our heads as the doldrums roll on!!

Hey Snides - new avatar mate - I liked the dog doing it for himself mate! - Is that you doing that interesting 'mule kick' type jump? Do the wave heads still use that term?

Dare I say - Friday!!!!!

Snides mate!
You are right again!
WA has gone from sh#t to p*ss on the Neboscale! But, I have to ask,
is this better or worse?

Is a dark brown shade the worst you can get??

we may have to get a comment from the banjo players from the south to see which is a worst shade of....brown....i think sugar licker land is mission brown and banjo land is kakki brown??? where did i put my pantone guide???
all i can tell you is when i look out the window here it looks like a very very deep shade of mission brown and i know that aint good

as for team tactics we may have to move over to the 'cone of silence' which is the team thread to discuss any further 'color' developments away from prying (elmo's) eyes

I must admit, I know absolutely nothing about colours, apart from the way that they are bloody hard to get to work together.

I had a revelation today when I asked one of the graphic designers to give me a colour that matched the rest of the site, she pulled out a pantone swatch and told me the value I needed. Incredible! I'd never seen a pantone thing before, I thought they did it all by eye.

Anyway the colour scale goes: Red -> brown -> yellow -> green -> blue (blue is 50 knots or so ) It's a continuous scale and I think it's sort of logarithmic. Anyway watch it for a couple of weeks and you'll figure out how it works. It might need a bit of tweaking I think, the arrows are a bit greener than I think they should be for a certain strength wind.

The wind data is taken from Weatherzone here: www.weatherzone.com.au/services/rss.jsp so I think it's taking readings from each city's airport.
