how do you guys use your gps besides max speed at any strip? for me since i sail alone for the past 3wks. due to my shift at the hospital i try to make it a point to at least go for a quick sail about 45mins to an hour..and try to hit 13nm, 15kts ave. speed, 28kts max on a beam to broad not really going top end..depends on the wind though and do figure 8's and i think it's good enough to for a quickie unless am just lonely and don't have friends to drag with hey is this good enough or am just lazy not doing more effort to make the most of the session

The GPS Team Challenge encourages you to achieve more than a peak speed. Some sailor go for distance, some go for consistent speed over an hour or a nautical mile, some people couple go good speeds through their figure eights over 500 meters and some sailors go for everything.
