Just a quick question regarding the requirements for garmin tracks:
Would it be acceptable to use a 3sec or 4sec interval for the purpose of recording distance/nm/hour only?
The reason is that the garmin memory only seems to last about 6hrs and that isnt really enough for a long day going for distance. (and longer interval=less trackpoints=more time recorded i assume)
yes, I will be getting a navi soon, however after some interesting issues with my last one i will keep the garmin as backup, and thus would like to know if recording with an increased intervall will be considered acceptable for GPSTC.
Hi Tim,
I can't see a problem with doing this.
At the end of the day you have to put up the speeds that you believe you went -- however you calculated them. If that means using display speed for your 2 second number, and using a 4 second interval on your garmin so that you don't run out of memory then I don't think that anyone would argue with you ![]()
Sweet.
nebs, good to hear its ok, and im not really concerned about the 2sec anyways; only when doing dist would i want a bit longer rec. interval. (and always been posting the display lately anyways)
yeah i agree kato, battery life isnt really great with garmins. still i thnk it should be good for ~8-10hrs when fully charged... which is going be more than enough
try logging an alpha run on a 4sec timing...
(or just count how many datapoints are in your GT11/31 alphas...)
