you know I'm not a serious sailor or fanatical about weight because the serious speed sailors use lead weights to weigh them down & I'm into slalom more than speed
so i decided to make a board for the green island speed week with one month deadline, the aim was to make it as light and as stiff as possible, even baked the microballoons cos they absorb moisture,
well the board came out at just under 5kgs and after adding pads and foot strap's the board weighed 6kgs ,and green island was 15knts ,so I cairn'ed the trip
so being winter and the rot has set in, and i'm tripping over my bottom lip thinking how can i get this board down too under 6kgs sailing WET ? so i made up some strap's made from EVA foam, carbon&kevlar&mylar+high pressure hose ?
ajustable gaastra straps weighed 190 grms wet my strapps weigh 60grms wet ?well i figure i have saved allmost 1/2 kg now i'm happy just have to see how the board goes![]()
