OK I followed roos guide to set up my new sd card. All ready to go. But I would like to access the data that is on the onboard memory from before I got my card and download the times to my computer. How do I do this???
This has probably been asked a zillion times before so I apologise in advance.

Open NAVi link program, hook your GT-11 up to desk/lap top.
Start GT-11, scroll though to NAVILINK, click toggle, it will highlight its in this mode. Go to desktop and select COM port, and then tab the READ tab. It will download. You then need RSpeed to read the download.
You get stuck email it to me and I can read it for you.

Alternatively, move the toggle right until you hit "datalogger", click, then select "Save to Card".

Then turn off the NAVI, take the card out, and plug the card into your computer.

ok thanks, I did what Nebbian said to do. Lots of gobbledygook. So now I need realspeed? Hang on a minute. I see I need to register to find my computers machine id number to get a registration id. What if my laptop is not on the net. Which it isn't, I can only access the net at work or at the library. And I am looking for another job so the work one is not an option.

Hi Suzy. You just email the machine number and Mal can email the registration code back. Otherwise, look up his website (intellimass.com/) and give him a ring.
The computer does not have to be online to do it.

BTW, using a card reader is very simple......and quick...if you have one.

Just a small question about rspeed, looking at the web site it says to pay 20 euros - is that just optional or necessary ? I know I sound like a cheapskate but after a new board and a GPS my wife is starting to get a bit edgy ! I only sail in the ocean on wave gear so the GPS was just for the fun of it and to see the tracks on google earth (I've only used it 4 times and top speed so far is only 33 K)

TIA

Hi Hardpole,

Na, not optional.
But I'm on freeride gear, sail the ocean and just do this for fun also. I got RealSpeed when it was free, but have since coughed up the dough.
Your GPS will give you your max etc, but will be worth alot more to you with software like RealSpeed.
RealSpeed is an Aussie program with top service.
But only you will know if it's worth it for you I guess

Cheers,
Bob.

Thanks Firiebob, I was a bit embaressed to ask the RealSpeed people, I tried the trial version and it does seem quite good. I also have tried the gpsar program which has some neat features as well. The GT11 I bought does produce .kml files directly, which open in google earth and let me get the map of where I have been, which was one of the main things I wanted. Now all I need is some wind !
