I'm thinking of getting a GPS just to get an idea of my top speed. I don't think I'll have the time to upload heaps of stuff and be on the computer. I have no idea what's involved..
I would like to join the challenge but is that possible without a lot of computer time and getting up to speed with programmes etc?
Also whats the cheapest one to do the job? I've borrowed one for a run occasionally but it's usually at the end of the day when I'm buggered etc..

GT31 GPS and a team you want to join. Quick lesson on how to use. Team Captain can set you up real easy. Its easy as to use and download.
Get a good Aqua pac to put it in, always place inside a zip lock sandwich bag as added security
The mob over there will see your post I am sure and sign you up in a blink

A gt31 will cost about $250 at a windsurfing shop like windsurf and snow to support aussie shops , or you can get one on ebay for cheaper .
You seem to have plenty of time to post in the forums ?

Hi Sue. I know a couple of people that are selling GPS. One was listed on here in the buy and sell for I think under $200 GT31 and I also know someone who has a GT 11 for about $70 both in Qld though. PM me for details if your interested. VERY simple to post your files with www.ka72.com thanks to my husband for making it so easy for me and loads of others. You only have to click one button to upload your file then one more button to post to GPS Team Challenge its that easy. (If you can post on here you can post to GPTSC no harder or no more time consuming) You can also see your tracks on Google earth with one more click and see your top speeds, gybes etc in lovely colours on the Google earth overlay. Join a team now,it is heaps of fun and a great way to keep on improving your windsurfing! It certainly not just about top speed I have improved my gybing and met loads of fantastic people and also have a really great log of ALL my sailing session for the last 5 years that I can access. To date have now logged over 8,000 km of windsurfing sessions (cant check for sure as site seems to be down:( at the moment).

That would be good..I put them on a calendar in Outlook and then loose the b lot whenever the new year comes up..
My partner said he'd buy one for me so I'll have to chase him up..
Whats the difference between the GT31 & Gt 11? He wants one that he can use for coastal & LHI type cruising when he gets a yacht sometime in the future..

There isn't much difference between a GT-11 and GT-31 for us.
