just wondering...i've been looking at my alpha's recently, and i'd like to know what the slowest point of your best alpha is.

i've knocked out some reasonable carve gybe at times, but at the slowest part (presumably just around the rig flip) i'm surprised to find i'm only doing just under 10kts.

what about you?

Dropping to around 10 knots is quite normal in low 20's Alphas for me. For my close to PB Alphas around 27 knots I have seen min speeds of over 17 knots, however I would not put too much trust in the precision of those min speed numbers. This is the one area where the current GT-31 technology is weak.

Listen to SQ

My best gybes min speed is about 12 to 14 kts, have had 10kts and still cracked a 24kt Alpha?

My best min speed for my 26knot alpha was 17knots,but held not the best speed going out witch dragged my alpha down.

Had an alpha of 24+ yesterday with a min speed of 7.8! So the entry (30+) and exit (27.5) speeds are more important.

You can get high min speeds in wide arc gybes but then lose speed having to pinch back upwind to make the 50m proximity.
