Has anybody had a look at the new Xensr?
I can't find a lot of information about this device and if it is any good for speed sailing. I know they used to do something that meant you needed to use an iPhone, but I think the new device can record data without a phone. You still need a phone to see any output. Seems like they use it mainly to record jumps and stuff but given the sensors they use it looks like it might be useful to us.
Sailquik, or anybody looked at this and dismissed it already?

Looking through the kiting forums the first Xensr seem a bit of a disaster.

But the latest one may have everything sorted.... I did read somewhere that using the gps function dramatically reduces battery life. Given that its main function is recording "air" and gps is not very good at vertical accuracy compared to horizontal I think Andrew is on the money about motion sensors. Read in some promotional blurb it measures that stuff 400x/second...
Hello, I looked at the zensr+ There promotions of the product sounds good. I was not intrested in the phone case design and was looking at the zensr+ stand alone gps. Last year I looked at there web site and have to say, it needed updating as tried to view the zensr+ to purchase one but took me straight back to the older phone case design so gave up in the end. Have not looked at there site since so maybe they have sorted it. Has anyone bought for Windsufing, if so, how good compared to the Trace , Canmore 102, GT31, Garmin 800edge of which I own. Gee I'm a GPS whore lol ![]()

well thought I would take a look at there web page today and they have updated it. Well before I bite the bullet and purchase one has any one used one on there windurfer, and if so where did you have it so it will not be knocked off ???? How does it compare to other GPS devises ?????
Hey guys, I thought I'd weigh in here if thats cool with you! ;-)
The XensrAIR has a 10Hz, dual constellation GPS plus IMU's, pressure and more for all the 3D stuff.
Its in production right now, and as you can see from the pre-order page on our website, we expect delivery
on or around May 6. As soon as we have confirmation from our maker, we'll post that.
We delayed the release last December due to re-designs on the housing and other tweaks to make it bombproof in
the field for you guys.
The design is built around a great GPS antenna design so that we get the best reception and results
possible. In testing other comparative products, we found their initial GPS lock and ongoing signal reception to be
poor compared to the AIR.
If you have any questions, please ask away!

What is the GPS chip manufacturer/type?
What file format is the data saved in?
Does the data contain the SOG (Doppler speed) data?
Also:
how long is the battery life?
Does the data contain the Speed Dilution of Precision (SDOP) or what some call the Estimated Horizontal Velocity Error (EHVE)?
"all day battery" as stated :-)
Yes, but hats a bit vague. Is it 12 hrs, 24 hrs are something else? Hence the question.
from what I see, you need to pair it with a device (phone) to start it, as it has no buttons.
Can be tricky,... or not.
you'll need to get back to your phone to check your speed, or take your phone with you.
(won't change much for me as I use the canmore with the tiny screen.)

Makes you wonder if they actually want to sell these things![]()
