No Sue, GT31s are out of production, there's still a few around but you really have to hunt for them now.
As Mineral says, they don't wear out with Kms travelled, I've had my GT11 since 2007.
The battery doesn't last as long as it did back then, but I did a 7hr 200km session with it last month with no problems.
The main thing is to keep salt water well away from them! Don't open the pack with wet salty hands, dry them well first.
I've seen guys open them out on the water, because the joystick is hard to use in the pack, these units had signs of corrosion on the screws in the card slot, and shortly thereafter, would not recognise a card.

Ok. Good. Hope they have a replacement when mine dies although it sounds like I'll wear out first.
200kms in 7 hrs! Don't know how you do it!

Hmm, now you put it like that, I've had a proper look. GPS was on for 8hrs but we sailed for 7.
Secret is flat water, much easier and faster sailing.

Sue! Are you saying you only own one GT-31!

Quick! Go buy another quick while you still can!

I was getting really worried last week when whilst I was charging my GT-31's, one turned itself off and refused to start again. I was then feeling very nervous that I only had 3 left working (plus my original GT-11 ).

Yesterday, I picked it up and without realising it was the one that I thought had died, I turned it on. It worked!! Phew, back to 4!

I almost always wear 3. Two inside my helmet and one on my arm to view. I guess I must be a wee bit OCD about not missing any session data!.

I didn't know he'd be there. I told him if I had known I would have got a whinch from him!
Not sure if I want to get another GPS at the moment as mine still works fine and I've just spent $ on a whinch + formula line...
I'd just heard rumours you couldn't get them anymore.I assume there will be others you will be able to get that will do the job if the 31's aren't available..

I found it harder to find a 2 Gb SD card.
Got it from Ebay, then postage took about 3 weeks (from Syd to Bris).

I hope Laurie don't mind - not that I'm gonna get rich selling this :)

But if anyone is stuck looking for 2gb SD card which works with the GT31, my business www.netplus.com.au have them in stock.

Thanks, but I could not find it on your website. Only a 2gb microSD which I don't think works. Is it hidden somewhere else?

Yep, one of our guts is using a micro with adapter, but initially it was very stiff to get in and out, (woops did I really say that!). So it was hard to tell if it was properly seated, if it wasn't it would work loose during the session and stop recording. Don't know what he did, but it's ok now.

Yes Decrepit , my Capt'n, that would be me, WazzaTechnoIdiot.
The carrier was very stiff so I solved the problem by tossing it in a bin and getting one that clicked in nice and easily. I was worried about damaging the GT31 otherwise. The one I have at present is a (Pro)Master carrier with 2gb SanDisk card. Because the position of the slot, apparently designed by a chimpanzee, it is impossible to grab hold of the carrier to get it out unless it "springs" out of the slot when you click it. For this to happen the carrier mustn't be a tight fit.

Mini sd and adapter is super handy , if I'm away from home and had a session I can take the mini sd out of the adapter and insert straight into the galaxy pad then upload to ka72

I bought a GT-31 from WS & S today and they only have one left.
Sam said they are not making them any longer so if anyone's thinking about it,don't delay.

They aren't being made anymore. If anyone is looking for GT-31's im pretty sure nzsailing.net has them and its cheaper to buy it there (AU$175) and ship it over than it is to buy online in Aus.
