Hi,
Can you comment about the pros and cons of following speedboards:
Thommen1 RS 60 from 2005
versus
F2 SX 91L from 2006.
I can have them both with equal price, but which one of them has higher potential for crispy speeds? Which one takes better waves? Which is more comfortable to surf?
Never ridden one.
Owned a SX'y M and loved it, had a lot of fun on that board, ISO's of the time beat it on flat water but the SX reeled them in on the chop, it just loved the bumpy stuff
i had a RS60 and never really liked it.
the board has a weird balance and i think the cut outs were too big and deep.
it had very little pitch stability. i filled in the cut outs and the board was faster AND more controllable for me.
in retrospect i would say it is a "typical Bjorn board". i can see it working fairly well for someone of Bjorn's power and weight and sails with lots of mast foot pressure.

Hi C3,
Thanks for information. What is your weight? Which windrange was comfortable for you to sail with it? What size of sail? How much speed difference did it make when you filled the cutouts? Do you have a picture of the filled cutouts?
Hi,
Yeah, the board is 100€ exactly with some small damage under the bottom. F2 SX has a big crack on the deck, but I am able to repair it, since I handle composites anyway. I bought both of them. One for me and other managed to organize to a fellow windsurfer. I´ll see which performs the best. I think filling the cut-outs is good idea, because the back-end floatability rises with it a lot? I´ll try to keep small cutouts. With height like 10 mm. What do you think about that?
