Yeeha! I hope all goes well for everyone and please can someone from SP keep us updated as often as possible...
Good luck!
In no speed freak yet but....
With no wind up here and that kind of forecast and data coming thru BOM, i'm
excited to hear whats going to come of this
Hopefully someone will get pics/vids etc!
Direction has been rubbishy West to North West,
Some big squalls,Chris had a 44 point something early on(in shocking conditions) and with low tide around 12pm they will be getting closer to high and hopefully can find some gusts with south in them.
Pretty ugly day from where I stood though.![]()
Pitty to hear, 44 in that much West should be a 50 in a SW, so Slowie on track for sure. Mal should of done ok too I guess in those tight conditions.
A Wavesail would of been the go too, good swell......
Gale warning with dangerous seas. Small craft advisory. Use extreme caution. Very large long period swell.
Winds: W 30 to 41 knots
Seas: WSW 17 feet at 11 sec.
Ahh, the day that could have been! Still, the wind did swing to the WSW late which settled the worms in my stomach. A couple of 40.5knot runs while tired and checking the tide level in the carpark each time is not ideal. Managed to crack a few smiles and Slowie made the most of it. He's definitely set up for 50 over 500 if the conditions are right.
Bring it on!
Day was a real disappointment with the wind staying west to WNW most of the day. It blew plenty hard though. I got 30-40 knots on mt gauge, averaging 35 just past the staging area which is still behind the lower dunes at about 8am. But it was a few degrees north of west. ![]()
There were certainly stronger gusts than 40 knots, quite a lot of them! But very ugly and broad conditions on the course. I only managed a bit over 40 knots and had some scary spin outs. Just couldn't put the pedal down.
About 2pm the wind veered slightly south of west to a fair angle but it also eased off quite a bit and the tide was rushing in fast.
Nice to get out there and feel the elements getting angry though. ![]()
Maybe next Wednesday..............
Looks good for Tuesday actually. Direction looks better too. Maybe not as strong as the 26th. Low tide at 3pm?
Wednesday looks very similar on the Guru to last Thursday but maybe a bit better angle and the main thing is the tide is low late afternoon so should be at it's best when the wind swings a bit WSW. Fingers crossed (inside my gloves!)
