I'm a little tiny bit bored, so I'd like to know what people's goals are, not coz I'm bored, just coz I got time to ask!!

My goals for the Mandurah Mob is/are to finish 5th overall. I'm not taking it seriously though..... but I have invested in a sheep station recently

Personally I wanna break: 40kts for 2 sec peak; 36kts for 5x10sec ave; 30 knots for the NM; 20kts for the 1 hour; 24 kts for Alpha; and 100km's for distance.

Don't think I can achieve some of the goals on my current gear, but have made some once in a lifetime purchases recently though nothing has arrived yet(He says with glee), which could help, i'll certainly have no excuses left at least. I'm one of these people who as soon as he makes a bit of money has to buy toyz, and then cry coz I can't make my mortage repayment, or I forgot to think about my tax and gst liabilities But you only live once, and I think I'm passed half way

Gybe without falling in and 30 knotts. That will do for a while, I get these two, and all the rest will fall into place
Couldn’t care less about placing, although last isn’t looking that good a spot. Its become a test of how far down the ladder we get pushed.
Then again, from my level its all onwards and upwards for me and I can play for yonks with improvements on a gradual scale.
Some of the top crew have had that fun already.
The day it becomes a grind, is the day I give my kit to somebody who wants to go through this fun.

Due to bustin my guts a few years back, I don’t owe a cracker on my house, thank goodness

I find all these goals, and striving for stuff, is disturbing my equanimity, so my goal is to have no goals!

Just had to check I'd got the right word, here's what my Fedora Dictionary's got to say.

quote:

Equanimity
Equanimity E`qua*nim"i*ty, n. [L. aequanimitas, fr.
aequanimus: cf. F. ['e]quanimit['e]. See {Equanimous}.]
Evenness of mind; that calm temper or firmness of mind which
is not easily elated or depressed; patience; calmness;
composure; as, to bear misfortunes with equanimity.
[1913 Webster]

I'll go along with that, sounds good to me. It's not a goal, it just happens naturally when everything is well and truly in the groove!

I don't care where/when you do it as long as it's not right in my ear.

I want to hit 40knts. i understand that this may take me years and a trip to sandy point.

Mandurah mob wise i want us to have heaps of fun and i hope we have forged some good long term friendships. IF we all achieve our best then it dosnt matter where we finish in the challenge. Saying that i have a pretty mean competitive streak so LONG LIVE THE MANDURAH MOB.
My short term goals are to just keep improving in small amounts. i have finally got decent cammed sails and soon will have my much awaited isonic 86.

Having all the gear and no idea means that i have to concentrate on my own technique and how i set up my gear. Coming from a dingy sailing back ground i really enjoy tweaking things and with the aid of a GPS you can get instant feed back on what works and what dosn't.

The main bonus for me with the team challenge is that it brings sailors together that all are going through the stages of learning the fine art of sailing fast so experiences can be shared and every ones learning can be accelarated in more ways that one(parden the pun).
If every team member gets to improve their their sailing experience then we are all winners.

I don't know if I have a particular goal, I'd like to see the team further up the ladder and get a PB I can be proud of.

My best ever was 57KMH on a waveboard at one of Reg's events

60 to 70 KMH would be something to brag about.

Thought you were going to miss out today, but if you'd come with us, all you'd have got is the occasional 18kn gust! Spent more time freezing on the beach than sailing.
