I know you are all a long way away......but some of you may have competed.....
I am trying to collect a set of articles to create a history for Weymouth Speed Week ready for the 40th Anniversary next year.I have one up online now thanks to Swagger.

Please can you help? If you have any personal memories or experiences that you can share for this, or any access to photos, data etc then contact me through this thread or my email

I would like to make this a substantial document in the long run and have about 10 months to do it......
Cheers
The Bus
I lived there for a few years and sailed every windy day, could see the course from my house. I competed in 1987/88/89. I think it was 1988 when the Hurricane came through and destroyed most of the boats. The BBC weather forecast had missed it completely and no one expected it. Did loads of magazine articles on the event. Who remembers Sir Reginald and his partiality to the sponsors product, i.e. Johnnie Walker whiskey. There was also the famous Crossbow trophy awarded to the fastest sailor each year. Also the lovely Jenna, Paula Wickens and Serfiac's blonde bombshell.
