This list is not complete. There are a lot more guys with gps units. I made this list as a reference for WA sailors from speeds posted on several different forums (and so we don't get disillusioned by the 45+ speeds from the Sandy Point and West Kirby guys). It looks like Pt Walter is the top spot in WA so far.
Never Disillusioned.
Always Chasing.
Some damn quick crew up in Perth, would like to see what some of them could do on our run down here.
Sandy is a different world, it may be perfect conditions but it's a long way to drive from Mandurah for a sail.
Tis funny though, I was just looking at this kind of thing this morning
Laurie,
Delete this post immediately, I find it offensive, makes me look like one of the slowest in WA![]()

Hardie, there are many slower than you. I posted this mainly as an indication of what people are doing over here in the West. It is incomplete and some I know have had good times (Jezz ,SAS, Matt?) but I don't know what/when they were. I have not put up any ranking numbers so people can't say "I'm the x fastest in WA" when that may not be the case. In fact for the mo'I think it best to call it a "table" rather than ranking.
To solve your present lack of esteem, encourage sailors slower to post their best gps speeds.

Gday Alby,
love to make the trip, how ever its come to that time of the season where i must restock my browny points and go camping with the family!
in addition to this chore i have just had a melanoma cut out of the back of my shoulder so the doc has advised no stretching or immersion in the water for the next week :(
good luck for this weekend with the wind!!
G'day Steve,
I've just found out who 25 is (gulp) methinks I'm heading for a bum kicking.
Just look at it this way, you're sending him down as an exploratory sacrifice to the wilds of Mandurah.
Looks pretty good weather for the camping anyway.
Alby
Alby,
i think the go is to not give our 'bolivian' friend too much info regarding hardies run i.e dont tell him where the shallow areas are or where the weed is thickest let him find these for himself ;)))
if all else fails and he does go quicker, take heart in the fact your bottom has been kicked by one of the best!! :) this is what i tell myself everytime i sail with him or that other speed fiend slowboat!
For these interested I have done a spreadsheet on WA sessions taken by GPS speed.
If you want a copy drop me a line through seabreeze email with your email and I will forward

I feel your pain Alby. I have to put up with Mal,Tony,Daffy and Ian whenever the wind howls. When its really really good it blows over a few West Ausies. GOOD FUN though, bring on the wind I miss it.
No pain, Lots of fun going the chase though.
I haven't been doing the speed thing long so trying to catch the Perth crew is great as I can learn a lot from them.
Fanging with Hardy is always fun as we are so very evenly matched.
The speeds which you guys are achieving I can only dream about.
Alby
great effort Elmo on your 38. I just read who I presume to be '25's' comments on the run on GPS-speedsurfing and he gives YOU a great write-up!
Curious to know, is it named 'Hardies run' because he found it or is it literally a spot called that and it's purely co-incidence?
