I know this is off topic, and its just out of curiosity ... but
has anyone come across any cheap as software (read FREE
) that allows the NAVI to be used in conjunction with a laptop in the guise of a navigator aka TomTom or Navman style.
It would need to work with a USB connection as my Navi is not the Bluetooth model.
Grumps,
I have wondered about this as well, keep us all posted if you hear or find somthing.
Cheers GT
We bought the BGT-11, which is the Navi GT-11 with bluetooth too.
With this I use my Nokia 6300 mobile phone running software called Nav4all (www.nav4all.com) which is free.
You could use a GT-11 in the same way via the USB cable, I think, but I haven't tried it myself.
Dylan.
G'day Grumps,
suggest you have a look at Google maps, it allows you to connect your gps via usb cable, or bluetooth if its enabled, to have real time navigation. They also have a CE version that works on pda devices. You can set up your current loaction and it will provide directions to any place you request. A little known trick is setting your memory cache to a very large size so it will store the maps in memory so you wont have to be connected to the net.
