Severe weather has battered western Victoria and the strong winds are heading for Melbourne.

Looks like we will be seeing some good speeds from the Pit crew shortly :-))

Here is hoping its the first of many southerlies this autumn and winter. After such a listless and windless summer it will be great to have some strong winds on the east coast and it will give me an excuse to buy a smaller board.

It's been going crazy from the north here for a few hours(base 40 to cyclonic!).
The change is currently looking the goods to happen in maybe 6 hours and then if it holds in past mid day tomorrow there should be some great speeds(low tide about 4).
On the way to the Pit the scariest part in these conditions is driving between Meeniyan and Fish Creek where you have to look up at the gum's as much as at the road hoping a branch doesn't land on car - or worse -speed board on roof of car!
