that guy who did 500 km plus is no couch potato.

would have thought in 20 knots it would have been easier on smaller sonic.

20 years ago i played in 2 day ameteur golf comp at joondalup[very hilly]

after 18 holes in the morning i thought another 18 holes would be ok for practice for tomorrow afternoons game.

i woke the next day at around 2pm.

Good to hear Congrats again on a super human effort. (Even my wife who takes no interest at all in windsurfing thought 511kms in a day was increadible).

What makes Dave's effort even greater is the fact that the conditions were horrible. The temprature peaked at about 13 deg just before 4:00 in the afternoon. It was overcast and quite heavy rain for most of the day and while he was in the river, had to cope with huge chop coming up from Storm Bay. It's only the southern end of Ralphs Bay that the water would have been a bit flater. But there arn't many days that the wind blows at twenty plus knots from dawn to dusk and Dave is not the kind of guy to let an oportunity slip by.
Big congrats. Dave you are the MAN.

We should get some media coverage of this?

What can we do?

Anyone with media connections?

Yes. The old record for a 24hr was 422 by Claude Lecoq I believe.Send the tracks to GPSSS and GWR with some Stat Decs and see if they will ratify it. Amazing distance

Dave,
You were wearing 10 GT-31s and had helicopter footage of the entire 14 hours and there were 23 independent witnesses?

been told to simply email the local rags, tv stations, radio, all media in the local and nearest city and follow up wiith a phone call. sounds too simple. she did say to hype it up a bit though. the big glossys she does freelance for wouldnt want it.

Huge effort Dave, and sounds like you got into the groove right up front and had an enjoyable day, despite the 500+ k's
