A big thanks To Justin for all the hard work organizing the 2010 Burrum Windfest and also to the sponsors. A great weekend, although not much breeze, great to catch up with friends and make new ones.
^ +1
A massive thanks to Gestalt and others who put in massive effort and spent many hours of their free time to organise another great Burrum Windfeast event. Whilst the wind didn't play ball I still managed to have a fantastic time and will be back again next year.
Also thanks for everyone who made me feel really welcome as a relative outsider from up here in Yaspoon (next to your knife and fork)![]()
Gotta agree, had a great time and really appreciated all the effort from Justin, Dillon, sponsors and helpers. There was just enough wind if you had big kit, hopefully next year the wind will comply : )
Agree with you all, very well done Justin. Had a great time meeting everyone as well as getting wet at Burrum. Good to hear everyone had a safe trip home. Thanks all involved.
yes have to agree.. thanks for a great Week, meeting new people and catching up with others.
huge thanks to Sponsors, events like this are so much better when lots of prizes are shared around. I was lucky enough to pickup the Board on offer from Peter at Caloundra Wind & Surf, dropped in on the way home and order a new Sup.. it don't get much better than that !! ![]()
big thanks to Justin and other people who helped get the event up and running ![]()
and also to Ray and Glynn for showing me where to sail on the first few days, big help with the water being dirty after so much rain !
only light winds for the week but nothing can be done about that !
just over 5,000 Km round trip for me and Hamma, even with the light wind it was still worth it to meet and sail with a good crew.
Catch Ya next time ![]()

I have also posted in the Burrum pics threads.
There are heaps of photos from the event at www.rebeccasavill.com
My wife has been getting into photography over the past year. There are about 200 photos up now and more to come. If there are any problems viewing the website let me know. Sometimes different browsers and updates play around with the settings and she can alter to code to fix this up if it is a problem.
thanks guys,
I'm stoked you all had a great event. i was a bit nervous there for a while as the wind was light but everyone made the most of it and the after session parties were memorable.
the race down the river on the final day look like a blast! will definitely see some more of that next year for sure.
my own family have said it was the best family holiday they have ever had! i even got my 6 year old out on the water 3 days staight after the event and she is now windsurfing.
can't wait for next year, the planning has begun. I'll post thanks to all of the sponsors and competitors in a couple of days once i've had a chance to put the words together. (only got back late today) I also have some photos to upload from the event and have asked channel 7 for a copy of the news coverage which will also find it's way online.
it was aired wednesday night, ian from rocky (radar class) and notwal plus vando all got themselves some prime coverage.
cheers to everyone. see you all next year or before. ![]()
Thanks again to Justin, Geoff and Ray for all their efforts in organizing this event again. We also had a lovely family holiday and I sailed 5 days straight even though it was on big gear, cant complain. Just need a week now to recover.
Was nice to meet some new speedies and catch up with old ones.
Thanks Dave M for your generosity with the beers and loaning me your 6.6 Koncept.
See you all next year

I'll add our thanks as well ( Greg & Anne ) for the organisation of a great event. It was a pity that the wind wouldn't play the game. Even so no one seemed too worried about that - it's part of a sailboarders kit - waiting for wind. We certainly enjoyed meeting everyone and will be back next year.
What a great weekend, if only the wind come to the party. Great to meet all the people I did put some faces to the usernames.
Big thanks to Justin and all the sponsors and others who helped and a very big thankyou to KA for my new sail!!
thanks for the thanks all ![]()
that was a great prize squid lips! well done. I was really happy to see the NXS board and the KA Koyote go to both David and yourself respectively.
KA have really been big supporters of the comp, having both naming rights initially, being intergral to the comp getting off the ground in the first place and giving away a sail every year the comp has occurred.
The lucky draws are there to give everyone a chance of being a winner and i hope you enjoy the sail. if you need any help sorting out any further details etc drop me a line and i'll jump on it. also if you need me to test the sail just give me a bell. ![]()
Photos from all three days are now up plus photos from the Thursday and Friday prior to the event. I'm studying the form of all the fast guys to work out how to go fast.........I'm not sure about Sausage and Choco's form though.....does that really work?
