For a few fleeting moments the Mandurah Mob was the gun WA team, unfortunately was only a figment of my puny imagination, I had fantasised Slowey bowing before me, . and in a dream he was asking me for hints on how to sail fast, unfortunately for me........ I had to wake up.... Remember those yummy adolescent dreams you used to hate waking up from...... well this was the yummy middleaged windsurfers wetdream, damn that unconscious!!!!!!

Its been a bit hit and miss trying to time the best of the wind... the session on the 5th was out of desperation (was stuck at work), and I got on the water about 5 minutes before sunset - about 5 minutes after claude finished, and about 10 minutes after the wind dropped. Got 5 or six runs in before it was too dark to see the posts. The 6th was also a fizzer. Waded in when the wind bottomed out and went offshore. I reckon the melville wind gauge "average" is a peak average, not a true average. The 18 knot gusts were only as big as a small car, and then 500m of 10-12kts (no whitecaps) so I dont know how that can average out to 16...
