Start building Hardie, one rock at a time, slowly slowly and no-one will notice, then one day there it is, "Hardie's Speed Run".

It's doable (is that really a word?) a big pile of rocks & a dinghy, it's possible

Sausage where the photos and some of the video is taken from is the sand flat of the beach that is there at West Kirby. It's very tidal and obviously that was taken at low tide. Therefore I doubt the different height would make much of a difference as if you came back a few hours later the same photographer would be up to his waist in water and the ocean height would be only a foot or so lower than the lake height. There is the possibility the wind going over the rock wall could accelerate due to compression though I guess...a la an aerofoil type effect, although I thought that would be more approiate if the surface the wind was trevelling over was smooth.
