Shout Out! to GPSTC'ers around the Illawarra

This is a shout out to Speedsters, Gustbusters, Cockroaches, Double Demerits and anyone who sails around the Illawarra. Locals or visitors, team members or not, anyone interested!

I've had an idea for a place online where sailors could post live on the spot info about the spot they are sailing form their phone, on the spot! Others who are wanting to know what's really happening on the shore could then log on to see if anyone is on the spot! You could also set up to get notifications when others post. I thought a Facebook group could be a good way to test the idea. So anyway below is a cut and paste from the page with a link. Check it out. If you're interested in getting involve just request to be added to the group.

A page that provides a place to post live on the spot info about the spot you're sailing. It is for team members and any other windsurfers, locals or visitors sailing in the Illawarra. If you would like to join and contribute then just request to be added. Everyone is welcome! You could... start with a post to let others know you intend to sail a particular place and time. You could then follow up with a quick live report on conditions from the shore. It could be as simple as one line of text or maybe with a pic or even a short video. Others can then check in to see if anyone is out and find out what the actual conditions are like on the water. We could also use the page for the regular stuff like sharing interesting links etc. Share it around team members, other teams, club sailors and windsurfing buddies.
