If you have no issue having your ideas to improve the sport implemented by me, please share them here. I'll see what I can do.
A 10hz GPS unit with LCD screen, bluetooth connection for speed talk/speech feedback and instant upload button to gps speed posting sites.
A bluetooth driven repeater display to clip to your mast or boom with large digits so you can observe speeds in real-time while you are sailing.
Throw GPS's away and get back to having a good time windsurfing again.
What's a matter?
Haven't had a PB for a long time, well since you were asked to verify your results![]()
Allowed to post to gpstc again aus 4 ?
Maybe one day you will get your facts right Greg. It's my choice not to post on GPSTC.
Hahahahahaha
. Maybe one day you will play by the rules ?

I am happy to talk to you face to face and I can fill you in about it and you're other problems.

A mobile connected unit that can stream summarised GPS data to a central website for live competition viewing or broadcast.

This would be awesome, could add some viewer experience to watching some of the racing, windsurf TV live stream + live data would be sweet. And let's be honest most of us are curious just how quick the top pwa sailors are. It would also add further interest to fin vs foil showdowns
Jetlag, cald > I'm on this one already but it's insane how uninterested others are. I reached out to many and ended up so disappointed by the (lack of) answers that I decided to "just do it".
BSN101 > I suggested something a few days ago. I'll see if some bite but it's likely going to be the same issue as above.

Most people won't know this, but Juien designed such a device for real time competition results a couple of years ago. The design was to stream live results to the beach and web during a competition. He floated the design with the GPS-Windsurfing organisations and found no demand at all. A bit sad really. ![]()
But it was actually this design that partially led to the production of the mini Motion, so a new chapter was born. ![]()
I also made a Motion RTK but, except the private event it was made for, nobody is interested.
I realized that I had several projects on hold because I was waiting for others to get involved. So I'm going solo. Hence why I'm asking questions here lately.
Some function on the Log page to upload sessions on gps-speedsurfing.com, so you can quickly do it with the phone.
Having a list of the day best results from other riders in the spot, in your own device, using broadcast mode... don't know if that is even possible.
Come on then, put your money where your mouth is.
I will, i have 6 on order with deryn , how many do i need to order and what sort of wholesale discounts will be in it ,to help Australian windsurfers get quicker service.

Some of you might remember a piece of software I wrote some time ago. It was a GPS google moving map video producer (GPS data input -> MPEG output). After a given session (circa 2009/2010), I would ask riders with GPS devices to email me their GPS tracks. People seemed very keen when I described to them what I was going to produce with their data (ie a youtube video), but that interest got lost soon after. So, I can relate to lost/lack of interest. At the same time, I had an idea to telemeter GPS data during sessions, and display riders on a moving map, on a live screen using a modified version of this software. But after the above experience, I figured most riders don't like things to get technical. Let's face it, most sailors (including me sometimes) struggle to get their gear right at the start of the session and get on the water and sail. That is all most riders want to think about.
JulienLe: I have a simple software idea. I propose a new category. Similar to an Alpha, but one that is based on a perfect full planing exit gybe, where rider sails an ellipse, at a constant speed and quickly. My understanding is an alpha can be any sort of 180 degree turn (plus other requirements). This can be as simple as stopping dead, repositioning gear and beach starting in opposite direction. The alpha category as it stands does not seem to encourage good gybing practices from what I observe. There is no 'carrot' to get really good at gybing in GPS speed sailing.
Nb/ It was Jimbob that first sounded this idea to me a few years ago at LG (who is the gybing king). So I don't take credit for this idea. But I think this is a very good idea.
Idea -> make the "alpha" proximity circle configurable so that it can be set to zero (instead of 50m) so that the track has to cross over .. and thus make it look like an alpha symbol.

JulienLe has been approached by a number of people in Australia to be agents or put there money where there mouth is. Do you want to hand over your money based on JulienLe mouth.
It's all over for JulienLe as soon as a new device is found. I don't know how everyone is being so tolerant and sucking up because it's the only device available when he wont deliver.
Love to eat my words because someone just got a parcel with 20 screen motions in it, but really , what a joke.
No wonder everyone is taking up wing dinging.

Or require the track to clear the upwind side of the standard 50 metre circle? That's an alpha!
Only trouble is the category might be blown out of the water by a young upstart foiler.
Have to be careful of hackers on slappers though. The computer could look for the crossover and clearance of the high side but not actually determine wind direction. Could a slapper doing a "downwind" tack alpha get a better result than a foiler doing the "upwind" gybe alpha?

Rubbish.
If I accept an offer to sell the company, they'll never turn a profit.
If I accept the good old distributor model, the end price for users will nearly double.
When I started someone told me "you'll never achieve it, you'll sink and I won't be there to see it" (2012). When I released the first devices, someone told me "haha yeah ok but the day Garmin comes out with something, you're dead." (2016).
And guess what? The offer is even worse than then. Supply is worse. Options are worse. Shipping is worse. "Market" is worse.
It would take a mad man to enter this field. It's a mess.
I only continue because 99% of my work is done and some need/want these devices.
If me not pushing these risks on others or not taking any more risks myself doesn't suit you, launch your own product. According to your very own research, it'll be easy, and cheap, and fast, and you'll be welcomed with open arms.
I'm late on four Mini and twelve LCD. You'd think there's millions waiting. And it's not even these few complaining. No, it's the same anonymous troll account since day one. I'm sure glad you do your part.
