I solved the uploading and charging issues by getting a new lead. I've uploaded and cleared the watch but now it says its 3pm when it's 8.30am..Can I change the time?
The time is set from the GPS system when it gets a fix. But you must set the correct timezone. I do it in the Locosys Utility on the computer, but there is probably a way to do it on the watch menus as well.

Thanks.
You can do it on the watch by pressing adjust button, scroll to GMT press adjust again then press start or reset button to scroll to your GMT time zone. NSW DST is GMT + 11.( Normal time is + 10 ) Press adjust to save. Need to turn GPS on to adjust time on clock face.

Thanks. I checked the time setting and it was right and the watch fixed itself when I used it and it got a fix..![]()
While on the subject of the watches.. I was having trouble uploading for quite a while. I'd get around it by trying many times and charging the watch first ( I still suggest this) but the real fix was a new lead!
It now connects first try and is really fast.![]()
They are only $30 odd so well worth it.
I wish the GW-60 could simply read the time off the computer like my cheapo Timex GPS Ironman does.
If your cheapo timex needs to read the time off the computer it's not much good as a GPS!
GPS time is more accurate than computer time.
The Timex also gets time from satellites.
If I have charged the GW-60 after a long hiatus, it won't display the correct time until I take it outside and let it get a fix. That's fine. But then, I have to go through the several steps to delete the GPS data in two places. If I fail to do that, I have to remember I had a "mysterious" session that ran for a few minutes on my back porch.
With the Timex, I just connect it to the computer, check the settings, and it's ready to go for the next outdoor session with the correct (or nearly correct) time.
Didn't know my GW60 told the time!
I have only ever strapped it on when using it as a gps. ![]()
Me too! ![]()
I find the GW60 time function really reliable - the screen goes blank about 5 hours after you turn it on.

Is that a misprint? For me, the time disappears after 15 SECONDS.
I thought it was designed to do that to save battery?
The 5 hours is about ballpark for the GPS function battery life though. ![]()
So you can set up speed genie to show time in the scrolling display with big font. there's also a small font time display at the top of one of the screens.

I'm retired... don't need to know the time nowadays. ![]()

Oh dear sarcasm fail![]()
I'll try again...
You know you have been standing around in the cold for 5 hours as your GW60 goes flat seconds before the 30kt southerly you have been waiting for finally arrives.
