Hi Izaak, haven't used the Casper but used Cam's CA47 with a Venom 26 and loved it. Used the CA47 with a different fin next time and the board didn't feel anywhere near as nice.
First time was with my 6.6 race and I could point back upwind comfortably. My avatar is that combo on Dr Cam's board.

hi gaz,
yes i have a select 26cm and im up grading it due to it is my worst fin and thinking that its slowing me down...but the fin gave me a pb alpha of 23 knots but hoping this one is even beter.

hi izaak,
just wanted to point out that the Venom 26 is not a Select fin, but a C3 fin...
but you probably got that anyway.

cheers

Hi Izaak,
I got to try the Caspar 25 in my CA44 on Saturday at Sandy Point and I was very happy with the fin. I got a few PB's but had some sail trimming problems(first session on the RSS MKIII 6.2) so I never got comfortable enough to push any faster. The fin was rock solid heading into the 20cm chop at the end of the run and did not spinout all day. The other bonus was the ease with which it sailed back up to the start of the run. I wrote about the Caspar on my blog ( www.whitelionwindsurfing.blogspot.com ) and have some head cam footage of the day using the fin which I will post soon. I am 110kg and there was no lack of lift so you will be fine on 5.8/6.3 or may even want to consider the 23...
Cheers
Tim

Hi Isaac,

Alpha Fin: TM 26 Speed = Best proven Alpha fin and sensational larger symmetrical speed fin.

Small starboard tack speed fins for CA44 = TM50 or KA Assy 20.

Buy Australian!

Hey Tim

I have sailed the new Caspers several times with my I94, and have found them extremely fast off the wind, and also very good at getting upwind, the size was 29cm. Cant wait to try it on a speed board.

Also have had the RSS 6.2 MK 111 since they came out, so if you want some tuning tips, let me know. They behave a fair bit different to the M11.

Cheers

Izaak, just remember that fin size will depend on body weight and water state (not just sail size)...

At 72kg & 175cm, I find 26cm is a pretty big speed fin (although it is a good size for a choppy conditions) -> I find somewhere between 20-23 to be a good range.

Yer agree with Matt for your weight a 26 would be a large speed fin prob a 22-24 would be better, you could always wear a 20kg vest

Yes. The TM 26 speed is what I use on the IS 87 for Alphas with 5.8m and 5m sails and on that board for speedsailing in gusty, inconsistent Nor Westers. Also for the 1 hour on the IS87 where it rocks in 25 knots!
I only use it on the small speed board of I need a symmetrical fin for port tack speed but Kato uses it on his CA40 (!) for one hour attempts and all sorts of things.

yeah im thinking i will get a 26 off mal because dad will want to use it too and i think it will be a good fin for those days where im powered up on a 5.8 and the runs are a tad choppy and for running alphas too in flat.plus the 26 i have now feels like a perfect size for the combinations i ride on.

Izzak, the TM 26 is a great all round fin and Tom is coating them with a chromium oxide making them very very resistant to scratches. Its impossible to sand the fins,it just turns sandpaper into paper, but you still can chip them on rocks Done some 42 peaks running this fin on the CA.
