I saw Mikey 100's awsome effort and that some of his pb's had been removed because he didnt save his data.
I was under the impression the data was always in the sd card until you cleared the card.We have just bought a second GT11 and new 2gig cards so does that mean we have to hold onto the old 512kb card until pb's have all been bettered?
It would be seroiusly soul destroying to have your pb's removed after going to all that effort.

Thanks, Benny.

That's what I do

Copied into my docs/gps data and cleared card. We,Jet and myself noticed some of the files were empty and others had 1 or 200 kb in them. We decided they were from false starts when we were working out how to use the GT11 and from accidental shut downs when using the machine(read in stacks etc),and deleted them.
It seems a good session has 2 to 4 mb saved(1 meg per hour approx).
The new GT11 means I am going to have to walk the walk not just talk the talk. It just seemed too easy to let Jet have the gps.
Actually I think it is a cunning plot from my wife for me to kill myself off and save her the effort. 20 knots had me convinced I was going to die but I still tried to beat it. Mabey HARDIE is in with her to get my super money?Damn him, he always seemed TOOOO nice.REALLY helpful.

Benny, check and make sure that when you set up the card size via NAVi set up, you lock it in as "card size" and nothing else. Otherwise you will get multi files in one session.
You have probably done this already just thought I would throw it in on the slim chance you haven't.

Depends on the format you're using, I'm saving SBN files, and most of them are in the 100s of Kbs, there's one as low as 64 and a few over 1mb, my 200km file is 3.7mb
So I'd be very carefull about deleting small files if they're .SBN

If they're not .SBN you may not be using the latest software.

I am very disorganised when it comes to my life but very organised when it comes to files on computers.

I have a folder in My Docs called GPS stuff. I transfer the files from each session into a new folder based on where I did it and the date. For example SydneyHarbourBridge311207.

I back up My Docs and other stuff to an external hard drive every couple of weeks, which is stored at work.

Fortunately its hardly ever windy in Sydney so there isn't that much data to store or lose.

I usually format my SD card before using it.

I'm pretty sure it older software, when we finally got it to work(the GT11 and programes)we left it alone as we didnt want to screw it all up again. Thanks for your help with that process Mike.
The whole setup process was WAY out of our comfort zone.
We can play with the new GT11 as we have 1 working gps, and upgrade the software after the new gps is running correctly.
