Last time I went to sandy it was very gusty and I thought the sandhills had ruined it but that looks good.
I might call in and give it a go on my way home form SA.
Have the sandhills flatten off a bit or do they just look like that in your video?

That did flatten, or round off noticably over winter in the main part of the run.

Nice vid and looked like a fun sail . Only place I've sailed like that was in Augusta, WA many years ago. great fun sailing maxed out with your arse hanging out over the sand and the board sounding "zzzzzzzzzz". Sand bar built up too high 15 years ago and killed it . You were sailing very close to the edge at times, have there been many nasty offs hitting the sand?

Its quite deep in places on the edge and we only run small fins so you can almost drag your fingers in the sand.
Matt had the worst off, hitting the bank at 40+. There a vid of it somewhere.

Yes , the 2020 is a bit quicker and I could point a few degrees higher despite having the smaller fin. Another 10 knots would have been interesting as I was just powered up (18-24)

Yes. It is a good view to check out how a sail is working. It looked really well rigged for reaching and pointing to me. RDM mast.

He was pointing higher on most runs. I had to foot off to maintain speed. When I got over him with a good run out of the gybe so he couldn't point so high, I actually managed to sail over him. Once he had power he seemed to be able to accellerate away upwind and at the start of the downwind, but once I was wound up I was holding him downwind, and sometimes gained a bit. It was good fun!!

I should have ordered a 2020 6,2m.

We were both a little underdone at times, but it was comfortable for a 1hr run.

This does look nice indeed. What speeds were you doing during this run? Wondering how fast one would be in these conditions. What 1hr average did you have in mind until the botched jibe?
