If you want to support a local shop, Wind Surf and Snow in Sydney should have them and will post out to you. Board Crazy in newcastle used to have them but they are just doing kites and sup now.

When you buy a GT31, make sure you buy a waterproof pouch to go with it, otherwise you will have a $250 lump of salt encrusted metal and plastic pretty quickly. Most people (including me) will recommend a "Paqua Midi", that you can buy from Whitworths in store or online.

What are the first steps I should follow when the GPS finally arrives? How do I get the google map with 'all my hard work on it'?
Cheers

Save your file as a GPX file on your laptop/desktop, then open google earth and load file, this should do it for you.
The rest is on the GPS web site. Your team mates will help you set up.
All the best..

The Mount Best site has an excellent guide on setting up a GT 31.

http://mtbest.net/setting-up-navi-GT31.htm

In regards to using it, its pretty easy nowdays with the KA72 website. Just go to the site, navigate to where the data file is stored and open the file. KA72 will work out the categories. Your tracks can also be viewed there via a Google Earth browser plugin.

You will need a SD Memory card. I've found the Sandisk 2GB cards available from JB Hi Fi for about $6 do a good job. 2GB will be enough room for a lifetime of tracks.
