the laptop needs a rebuild, is there a file from Realspeed that you should keep before you format the computer, to help with the registration of Realspeed ??

thanks

I think Mal's happy to reregister it if you explain what's happened.

That's true and thanks for the reply
But I'm sure there is a file (somewhere) you can save before i pull it apart that will let you re-register without bothering Mal !

Thanks for raising this, I need to reload my operating system and was wondering about this : Realspeed is the only bit of software I really care about: any other is just a nice to have
I shall do it and contact Mal.

My computer started to die a few months ago (the fan or hard-drive kept going at full-speed and I kept needing to re-boot), so backed everything up, bought a new desktop for around $600 (HP Pavillion with an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor)and the day I did the old computer completely died. Reloaded everything (plus upgrade to Windows 7 - which took about 6 hours) and bought a new license off Mal for around $20. Got my new number within an hour or so and all was sweet. Could have asked for a new machine code number to replace old one, but thought buying a new one was a good way of supporting Mal to continue to develop his software.

Mal says they seem to be working fine at his end. Maybe one of the ones I listed is problematical but mwright@intellimass.com is good.
Please try again. :-)
