Hey there Mr Larko....interesting article i personally think that windsurfing needs to develope more efficent sails/fins/boards that can do speeds of 40+knots in 15-18 knots of wind, instead of waiting for 40-50knots winds, perfect angle, perfect water conditions, perfect setup.

This is also interesting "ratified 50.54 knots on the certified 501 meter speed course" When has the 500m record become 501m. Does this mean after all the stuff about personal gps,s not being accurate enough for records that video also has a large + - error of 500mm.[}:)]

By making the course 501m it takes out any arguments that the course was 100mm short

They haven't yet sent the details to the WSSRC for ratification.

Maybe they are still in Namibia or hopeful of improvement.

"It is mostly a shallow water place and only works for windsurfers on super high tides as windsurfers need more water for their deeper fins. Kiters fins in Luderitz were 5 cm deep max, compared to 18 to 28cm for the windfsurfers."

What happened to the 50cm rule???

I think the quote might be a bit misleading, I haven't ever seen a kiter with a fin that's more than 5cm deep... anyway wasn't the 50cm rule amended to 10cm or half the beam, whichever is greater?
