Took my GoPro out yesterday to capture the glassy section we get at Pt Grey across from Liptons in WA.
It is not always like that. If it had been like that Last Thursday the speeds would have been amazing.
and, it was only ankle deep in parts, so a bit scary to sail over
Yep, the right fin, and a lot of care is needed!!!!!!
Not sure why it wasn't as flat Thursday, probably because the wind was stronger, I don't think it was any deeper.

Above a certain wind strength the glassiness goes, but the wind in the videos is probably 20+ knots, and Hardie managed a 37 knot run that afternoon. But I agree that with the tide as it is at the moment, fins 20cm or less are highly recommended.
yer I saw Pacey board from the star picket is that from someone who doesn't like sailboarders?
An old fencepost I think, probably been there for years. Will wait for a super low tide and go out there with a battery powered angle grinder to get my revenge on it.

Tide was about 25 cm higher last Thursday, by the end of the day at least

I had an 18 and got catapulted once on the way back, planing but slowly.
Had the same at LG last Sunday in front of uncle kevs. Water 3 foot deep but really high weed. ( or as Sammy would say the Glossy). Sure is nice.
