Hello all. Site was cut over to the new version today (as you have noticed.)

To automatically post to GPSTeamChallenge, you MUST be logged in to the website.

You don't need to log in to upload files, and you can copy the values off the upload page and paste them into GPSTC, but the "Post To" button won't appear unless you log in prior to uploading.

Registration on the site doesn't cost anything, and should only take a minute or so.

I will try and keep an eye on Seabreeze in case anything comes up, but I suggest posting questions and issues on the ka72 forum instead, as I will be immediately notified about anything that is posted there.

What exactly do you mean with this. Do you mean the track you uploaded is in Western Australia, or that YOU are in Western Australia?

Can you send me more details so I can assist you with this?

Hi Dylan, yes the track upload says it was in WA but I'm in Qld. This is when I log in. If I upload without logging in it looks good. Ie manly today

There are three tracks from Manly today:
www.ka72.com/Track/t/142998 (17.999kt peak)
www.ka72.com/Track/t/142995 (30.44kt peak)
www.ka72.com/Track/t/142970 (23.373kt peak)

Which one is yours?

Actually, I have reproduced the problem. I'll take a look at it tonight and see if I can fix it.

This has to do with FIT files, and the annoying fact that they all have the same (small number) of filenames.

A quick fix for the time being is to rename the file before you upload it to something more unique than 001.fit

(The filename SHOULDN'T be an issue, but for some reason something is going wrong with the duplicate file detection when you are logged in.)

Dylan.

Hi Dylan cant see where to post when you have a multiple session file *.sbp.

You upload the file like always. Session splitting should still occur with files that go over more than one day.

Anyone having registration troubles, feel free to email me with your login name and issue, and I will fix it ASAP. If you are missing a verification email, please check it hasn't been spam-binned by your email provider, because if this email is, other notifications from the site may be too.

If you've previously uploaded a track while logged out, and then post it again while logged in, the system detects that an anonymous user has already uploaded that track. You can tell that this is the case because the "Permission" box says "Anonymous" in it.

This is the protection against someone else downloading your anonymous track and then claiming it as theirs.

At the moment, you can "trick" the site into accepting the duplicate file and allowing you to post it to GPSTC by renaming the file before re-uploading it.

I don't have that problem. When I type ka72.com into any browser, it resolves to www.ka72.com

I'll look into it.

spd files don't have any data in them except top speeds. They aren't full tracks. ka72.com takes full tracks.

So no, .spd files aren't supported by ka72.

I thought KA72 supported all locosys files. Are you sure you didn't mean .sbp files? I haven't seen a .spd file out of my GT31. If it's set up as recommended, he should be using .sbn files off the SD card. If there's no SD card then the .sbp file in the internal data logger is the one to go for.

The .spd file is a text file that the GT-31 makes when you use the SAVE ALL menu in MISC. The unit saves the internal file (,sbp) and the text file to the SD card. There is also a .bin file which I don't know much about.

You can open the .spd file in any text editor.

With a pencil or a calculator you can work out you accurate 5x10 sec from this file!

eg.

Thanks Andrew ! Would you rather have a method to save the file properly so it can be exported to ka72 ?

Sean, I think you're missing the point here. The GT31 makes 2 file types that can be exported directly to KA72, it's what we all do. Either the .bin file from the SD card or the .sbp file from the internal data logger. If your team member hasn't got either of these files, we need to talk him through how to set up/use the GT31 so he does.
As sailquick says the .spd file isn't any use, by Andrew's explanation it only holds the 14 best max speeds and the 10 best max average speeds. IF he's only got a .spd file then both the internal data logger and the memory card logger are turned off.
They need to be turned on!
There are a few articles how to do this in the "guides" section of the GTC website.
