When I win a sheep station I don't want any declarations of foul play, so I gotta check I'm doing legit here
I just posted to GPSTC a combined foil fin session for a day at the same spot. I always post through ka72 and like to separate sessions there.
I'm running two gps units. Garmin 255 and mini motion. I reset the motion for each session and keep the watch going during both foil and fin session. While shifting up the beach to change to fin i paused it.

In KA72 after posting the two separate sessions and checking out those results (my points toward sheep stations ) I create a private post of the combined one and send that to GPSTC with track for foil and fin.
Am I sneaking those ka72 points doing this or does it not count if it's private?
Is there a better way to do this? I've heard about joining sessions in other programs but had no joy.

I think what you are doing is ok, I am not 100% certain, but I don't think KA72 looks at the private sessions when calculating scores.
It is however super easy to combine files in in GPS Speedreader, literally click combine files and then click on the two files and its done. Then click post to GPSTC.

Private/hidden files are not included in any score/pb etc calculations at ka72.com, otherwise there's be dozens of PBs scored while driving home from people that just made that track private. This is configured for each individual event and calculation so I guess its possible it could be overlooked here and there, so please let me know if you suspect private/hidden files are being used for calculations anywhere.

In some events, only the last track uploaded for a specific date are used for calculations. This allows sailors who use multiple devices to check and see which file they'd prefer to use for an event. These are usually location-specific events such as the Burrum Windfest rather than group or month challenges.

Oh yes that makes sense, if private tracks counted Elon would be riding rockets around and claiming it.
It's a huge day for me to do both, not sure if it will happen often so probably no biggy. Thanks for info.

I run a single GPS for the whole session, then split the file afterwards. In practice, about 99% of the time I foil first, so I upload the first split as foil, and I upload the full, uncut file as fin. That doesn't create any issues for GPSTC, because I'm still consistently faster on fin than foil across all disciplines. Total distance is rarely more than ~60 km anyway, even if the session is all fin or all foil.

Joining them on gps speedreader works, but just for oao files right? That's all i could get it to work with. Which is a mission to get oao file from motion to computer as i usually use phone for that.
