A posse of twelve plucky Pinnaroos and partners participated in a pizza, pavlova, plonk and piano party to celebrate the pinnacle of Pinnaroo's achievement, the Spring Cup. Our own Daniel Postle, prime performer for the Cervantes Windsurf challenge, played piano post- pavlova.
Someone suggested we needed a cup for the photo...
" and the lady of the lake river, her arm clad in the finest shimmering samite, held forth the Spring Cup ..."

It was a fun night. The pizzas and pavlova were perfectly palatable, and the piano playing was a perfect punctuation to the evening.
Well done Pinnas, thanks for posting Anita ![]()
I was going to make a smart arse comment about the guys you hang out with but ![]()

What's happening in the picture on the wall? An operation?

well spotted, yes.
I guess most people don't have surgical photos on their lounge room walls do they?
It was another memorable occasion - another world first - a corneal transplant on a Siberian tiger, and I am the surgeon.
^^^^^
Brilliant - well done Anita ![]()
Thanks. My main memory of that occasion was how thick and soft the tiger's fur was. Not many people get to feel a Siberian tiger's fur.
The other interesting part of the story was the donor cornea came from the tiger's mother, who had died the week previously. The zoo keeper had kept her head in his backyard (for later mounting - Americans are mad on taxidermy) and because it was Minnesota in winter the weather was so cold the cornea had been preserved, allowing it to be used as a transplant days later.
The zoo keepers trained the tiger to push her head against the bars of the enclosure each morning so they could squirt eyedrops in.

Thanks. Interesting story to go with the picture.
