Congrats David.
Its a good feeling and a relief to join the 30 knot club, well done.

I did it at Kyeemagh close to the runway last night. Only had 1 or 2 gusts where it kicked in around 20kts for about 20 seconds. Looking at my tracks it was surprising that I did the 30kts on a reach. Cant wait for a decent seabreeze now its summer.

50% faster than the wind - well done! I didn't even get to plane yesterday - I did have to leave early though. I was out of the water about the same time as the Storm hit.

YOU had to leave early!! I got a phone call from my wife saying I'd better come home cause she had hail stones the size of tennis balls (no joke I have them in the freezer at home still) coming through our totally obliterated skylights (5 in all). $1300 later in excess for contents and building I have a nice long list of things to have fixed or replaced. If only I had my sails drying on the line and they got some holes in them, I'd be able to claim a nice new RS slalom [}:)]

GPS Display Maximum Speed: 27.2 knots

Conditions: 15 to 27 South

Equipment: Starboard formula 147, Gaastra Nitro III 10.9, Drake 70 Fin

Self: Age 26, 82kg,

Comments: For an unpleasant time on the water it was nice to walk away with a formula PB, the 10.9 was a bit much this morning once i got past the heads @ Clontarf, even managed a good chop hop out there - unintentional & unlanded

I might try the harbour next time..
Hope you get that new carpet you were after Andrew

Well done Sean, nice speeds mate! Did you end up sailing yesterday? I see the wind came up for a little while. Not sure if you waited it out though after the storm.

i left pretty much straight after you yesterday. Hopefully i'll get out this week. Dont see many people on the water before work.
Better find a way to get a mast or 2 under insurance while your at it, nothing less than X9 ultra's of course

Tell them it was the only thing you could get hold of to cover the skylight hole to stop further storm damage to contents else they (ins. co) would be for even greater repair bill. Do you have a new for old policy....if not they just get you another old sail.....

sh!tty time of year for it to happen - not that anytime is a good time....

Conditions: 20 to 30 kt NE, mild chop

Self: Age 26, 82kg,

Comments: First time over 30 knots, very happy especially to have beaten my PB by 6.4 knots
I keep assuring my dad the downloaded speeds arnt lying
One of my 30knot down wind runs ended in a long flight through the air & getting thrown around for what felt like a minute before getting slammed into the water. Fortunately i didnt break another mast, my current specialty

There was a lot of guys out there today going faaaast, must have been some more PB's done

I'm stoked, I grabbed a PB of 32.7 on my Foretrex! Realspeed dropped it to 32.29. Out on my Fanatic Falcon 90, Gun Sails Booster 5.8 with a 32cm fin.
Damn that was fun but I am sooooo buggered now.
Great stuff on your speed Seano, I know you can go a LOT faster.

Hi guys,

Great session after work. 20-25kts NE down at Kyeemagh, Botany Bay. I picked up another three PB's today as well. GPS displayed 33.4kts and Realspeed knocked it down to 30.3kts. Had a 25kt NM as well Im pretty stoked about. Used the NP Hellcat 5.7 for the second time. Still trying to get used to it in comparison to the RS:Slalom.

Lived up to my nickname and went over the front a few times today whilst bearing off. Luckily no damage to self or equipment. Hope to see you guys down there tomorrow arvo.

Cheers
David
