This was at Goolwa Lake. They say out of every negative comes a positive. Well we have very low water levels in the Murray Lakes now due to the drought, and with yesterday's strong SW'ly and wind tide, we ended up with probably the best flat water conditions I've ever seen in SA. Big exposed muddy banks that roll down into a deep channel and quite long runs - about 700m. So the NM's have gybes in them. As the the alphas, well it's so flat that really you have no excuses for not pulling of a fast planing gybe. It's as flat as the east bank at Sandy Point, only longer. If you look on Google Earth at Goolwa lake, you will faintly see the channel running NW - SE down to the end of the barrage. With a wind tide, all the water is blown out, leaving only the channel.

I'm too scared to talk it up too much.

In fact, it's really not that good after all.....

Chris sounds like its awsome conditions when all the water is blown away. Dave Mossop was talking it up a lot when i went out at the mouth with him on friday. Would love to have a go at that sometime if it happens when i get back. I reckon my problem is i'm not bearing off the wind enough to get a really good speed at the moment so just cant wait till i can get out again and try some different stuff like that to try get some really good speeds. Dave posted a good session for the Gybe Turkeys aswell but couldnt count for the team comp. unfortunatly.

Gona miss it anyway. Leaving on monday, only one more day of school to deal with lol.

Cheers
Bubs
