How about we all dig up our old speedsailing (or just sailing)pictures and post a few here? Here are some to start things rolling.
I recently found some results sheets from some of the early Sandy Point High Wind Carnivals we used to run at Sandy Point.
Here is one from1994:

It is striking how many currently familiar names there are on that list.
I also put up a pic of interest here:

that shows how close to the bank it was possible to sail. Recognise the rider?
Thats awesome Andrew. I love the sail , Amacs 94 work was stunning . I will have to talk to him about a retro look for the 09 KA range , Ha !!!
Seeya Martin
Both are real blasts from the past. Lots of names I recognise and the pic of some Aussie wave sailor who doesnt live here anymore is a great one to show how close you could get.
I must go back one day and sail the pit again, what a top place.
Nice one Andrew.
OK. Here is another one. This is early 1980's. This my first home shaped and glassed speed board. It was about 16" wide from memory and was as rough as....
I think it is still in the long grass behind the shed....
Not the high fashion red Okespor sailing shoes and Carrera sailing sunnies!

The board sits very nicely on the water Daffy, how would it go with a modern sail, fin and mast base location ![]()

Haggar. It did sit very flat. Might have had something to do with the negative tail rocker. Might look fast ..... but it wasn't! :-)
OK, it's been a slow forum day so here is another:
