KA72 will be running the November Hour of Power once again this year for the top 1hr speed. The competition will be open to sailors from anywhere in the world, entries to open later this month.

I am aware that with the current economic and social impacts of Covid-19, many businesses are doing it hard, and many sailors haven't had the opportunity to dust off their gear and enjoy their favourite recreational activity. (Or 2nd favourite in some cases .) I hope this activity will give people an opportunity to come out to their local spots and get into the global fight against sit-on-my-assery that has enveloped the world.

If anyone would like to throw in some prizes for the competition, please let me know. I haven't arranged anything knowing that everyone is stressed out enough. The event will go ahead regardless, but if you have a singing fish on the wall of your den or a lifelike bust of Elvis Presley that you were thinking of taking to the tip, consider giving it to some lonely sailor to decorate THEIR pool room instead. Or windsurfing stuff. We like that too.

Dave, you should do an epic hour with the sharks chasing you up and down Geographe Bay

Great to see the entries so strong in such a difficult year!Proceeds from the competition are used to help support the operations of ka72.com for all GPS sailors. This year, we chose to take no sponsors on board as everyone is overworked and underpaid enough already! However, we will be giving away $50AU vouchers from "Your local windsurfing shop" to two entrants this year.

You will be able to choose whichever shop you want to and ka72 will organize the voucher for you.

Random selection will occur midway through the event, and results will be posted back on this thread.

Good luck everyone!
