What a week it has been in GPSTC!![]()
Well done to Tony, Izaak and Jacques on their No 1 all time AUS rankings and all the other PB achievers.![]()
here are some dodgy pics. Tried to get a few but was too impatient to hit the water. ![]()
Mat hits the water as soon as we arrived
Hamma slews into the parking area on a mission
Cars and gear park. Spot Jimbob!
Just looking at the numbers for tuesday at the Lake..... should be some more top speeds coming from over there. I can't make it -work sucks. I assume there will be a fair crew there? Assuming there is still enough water in the pond..
Good luck guys![]()
Good work Tony on your NM, today a bit choppy going by the locals. Managed a 44.3 10sec with 45 peak, I had a squall all the way and felt like I was flying n lit all the way, but cut run short with a miss start getting weed off fin and not backing up 50 yards, too short
.
Did a 40 NM bouncing between 41 and 37 wind up n down during run.
more to be had,,,,,
Hey spotty
How long you there for? Today should be good. Pretty hard work for us heavy guys to get started in the weed. Were you on the 2012 koncept 5.8 yesterday? Interesting how our peaks and 10 secs were very similar. I still recon the weed holds back the peaks a lot.
Good luck .
Cheers tony
From inside the car at the Cocky's Point car park you can see the wheel marks in the foam that had blown in over the sand. T
his area was all dry when we arrived & before the wind started to howl
a big Salute to Tony from up here as well..amazes me how one can hold on that long and fast...kudos mate!
Congrats Tony!
I heard about your mammoth effort not just on the water but also the drive there and back in a day!
Hi
Aparently according to Daffy, GPSS are working on a world and national record ranking for the NM. When its all set up I will send them the info. I had 2 GT31 's on all day and the numbers that I uploaded were on the slightly slower one of the two (only .03 kn difference between the 2 for the Nm). Daffy and Matty took a copy of my tracks on the beach before leaving, so everything has been done as per record requisites. Should all be ok.![]()
Cheers Tony
Re Nautical Mile records:
The WGPSSRC is working on additional record categories now. We have finalized the rules for 1 hour and 24 hour categories. We actually announced on the GPSSS forums that we were introducing those more than 12 months ago but unfortunately there have been way too many delays. We believe we have resolved this issue and I anticipate they will be officially published quite soon.
The Nautical mile is a bit more of a problem because it is a 'distance' not a 'time'. The WGPSSRC is currently committed to calling only time based records. There is ongoing discussion about whether we will introduce a time category that closely matches the Nautical mile but nothing is resolved at this time.
If you think there is a chance you would like to apply for any records or anticipated records, please make yourself familiar with the record rules, especially those regarding witnesses and swapping/saving of files before you leave the venue.
If we can establish that a candidate has followed the correct procedures, we can certainly consider a record claim where the session was sailed before the official announcement and publication of the rules.
I would be happy to hear any comments or input regarding these or any other matters regarding records.
Andrew Daff
WGPSSRC committee member.
great then am sure even the hydroptere's run surely must have been verified this way and have gone the same way it was witnessed as such![]()
The only "decent" record and by far the most important is the Pb record. Achieveable by all and the closest competition you will ever get. ![]()
