I am seeing some ka72 uploads recently with a new firmware version on them of V1.3A0926B. These appear to be from GW60 devices.
If anyone has any feedback or information about this new firmware, please feel free to post it here.
For the moment I am treating this as the new "current" version of the firmware, but don't know for certain if it has the Alpha features in it of the V1.2A0314B release that has been most widely used to date.
I've been talking to Roger recently, he hasn't mentioned it.
There's a difference in how the GW60 calculates the alpha separation, it uses doppler not trackpoints, so apart from the speed genie being set too high, or the distance being under 300m, there's a third reason why KA72 and other software can differ from the GW60 display.
But I doubt this later version has anything to do with that.

Thanks for the explanation. I found the alpha on the watch rather useless. Last session, I got a 16.9 knot alpha with speed genie set above 20 knots - that should not be possible. Most sessions, the alpha readings I get are quite useless, even with low speed genie settings. That's very different from GPSLogit , which generally has quite accurate values, despite the phone GPS being less accurate.
I think the alpha algorithm in the watch could definitely be improved. But I wonder how many GW-60 owners actually look at the alpha, and how many get results that are close to what ka72, GPSResults, etc. are giving.
V1.3A0926B is available for download on the Locosys website.https://www.locosystech.com/en/product/GW-60-GPS-Doppler-Watch/gps-watch-gw-60.html
I looked at a new watch a couple of day's ago and noticed it was the new firmware. I might recall seeing one or two extra settings, but can't remember what they were.
All screen's and categories seemed to be the same. Can anyone shed some light on it.
To update ; Or not.
One of the guy's has a watch that has a glitch that stops it being recognised by the computer.
We updated it with the previous version and it fixed it but not for long.
Maybe this latest version fixes some glitches found in some watches? Anyone?
" Just got feedback from Locosys, it's described as a minor upgrade, no addtional changes based on the info we got from Locosys."The F/W (V1.3A0926B) is minor update to improve the GPS accuracy. It's not a must do...which means users can upgrade GW-60 to V1.3A0926B or stay at V1.2A0314B. "We will do some tests in the next days, and keep you posted.
Did some small tests today, all looks pretty stable. One additonal feature discovered , possiblity to adjust the contrast of the display. For us ok to use this version now."
